Best Bridal Shower Ever

Over Memorial Day week end I had my Bridal Shower. The theme was a garden party and guests showed up in sundresses and sun hats. It was the most amazing shower I could have ever imagined and my mom (pictured in right)put it together all by herself. My shower was in the most beautiful backyard in the world (moms). She spends hours and hours in her gardens and they look absolutely amazing. The yard was set up with chairs and tables scattered around the gardens. There was special champagne punch w/ floating strawberries and each guest got a little green flower pot w/ a purple flower (my wedding colors).

All my closest girlfriends were there to celebrate. Two of my friends flew in as a surprise, and it made my day extra special. I am so blessed to have such an amazing family and wonderful friends. They truly made me feel like a princess. I even had to sit in a throne!

I will never forget this day for as long as I live.

A fun, relaxing week end

My best friend and I went to the Dauphin County Music and Wine Festival this week end. It was a great time. I packed us a blanket, cheese, crackers, and grapes. The first 1,000 people got a free wine glass and a free wine tasting. We tasted lots of great wines from 5 different wineries in the central Pa area. I could do this every week end!

I don't get to see my close friends as often as I'd like to. Lots of my friends moved away after college, far away...California, Texas and I'm not a big fan of flying. So it was nice to spend the week end with a great friend. It was relieving to be able to unwind, lay back and relax.

The Bridal shower and Bachelor parties are all over now, and there are 26 more days until the wedding. Sometimes I get an overwhelming feeling of anxiety when I think about it, but I have to stop myself as this is going to be the best day of my life and I cannot allow my anxiety to take that away from me. I spent 13 months planning this event, so I want to enjoy every little second of it. I cannot wait to put on my dress with my hair and make-up done and feel like a princess. This is our big day, and we deserve to feel amazing and love every second of it. (positive self talk- pretty effective)

Getting Started

Today I was inspired to start a blog. I was working with a client earlier and his mother was telling me about the art blog she just started. I decided to take a peak at hers and thought it was really neat and I decided I would give it a shot. Now seemed like a neat time to start as I am getting married in 31 days! It's a good time to start blogging....wedding day, honeymoon, looking for/buying a house, kids...etc. Some exciting things in my near future.

A friend of mine at work told me she kept a journal during her wedding day and honeymoon. She talked about what she was feeling during her wedding day, afterwards, and on the honeymoon. I thought this was a great idea as I've kept journals almost as long as I could write. So maybe now it's time to try out a blog.
